Horizontal Boring Mill WFT 13 represents the newest technology and concept of table type horizontal borers with fixed column that are currently on the market. Thanks to the powerful headstock, high axial forces and most precise table in its category, WFT 13 can fulfill the needs of the most demanding customers.
Because of its modern design, WFT 13 is a universal boring and milling machine that allows efficient processing of large and heavy workpieces while conserving high precision and quality of operation.
Modern control systems (Heidenhain iTNC 530/ Fanuc 31i/ Siemens 840D) provide very comfortable manipulation of the machine and many useful functions for the user. WFT 13 offers four linear and one rotary axis travel (X, Y, Z, W and B). Given the table accessories, it is possible to perform continuous B-axis rotation (contouring) simultaneously with X, Y, Z, or W axes.
During the metal processing, the column of the machine adopts Z-axis movement and the workpieces are clamped on a rotary table that travels in X-axis.
The Y-axis ball screw (diameter 80 mm/ 3.15 in), rigid column and powerful headstock are further contributing to the precision and rigidity of the machine. Other features such as linear scales Heidenhain, spindle thermal monitoring system (standard) and no slip stick rotary table contribute to the high degree of accuracy.
Modular design lets customers configure the machine to their requirements, including X-axis travel from 1 500 to 5 000 mm (from 59.0 to 197 in), Y-axis travel from 1 700 mm (66.9 in) to 3 500 mm (137.8 in), and Z-axis travel 1 200 mm (47.2 in), or 1 700 mm (66.9 in) for Y-axis from 1 700 mm (66.9 in) to 2 500 mm (98.4 in) and Z-axis travel 1 500 mm (59 in) or 2 000 mm (78.7 in) for Y-axis 3 000 mm (118.1 in) and 3 500 mm (137.8 in).
The CNC rotary table is offered in three dimensions – 1 600 x 1 800 mm (63 x 70.9 in) and 1 800 x 2 200 mm (70.9 x 86.6) with maximum table load 15 tons (33,069 lb), and 2 000 x 2 400 mm (78.7 x 94.5 in) with maximum table load 20 tons (44,093 lb).
The machine can be equipped with automatic tool exchange. This auxiliary equipment is able to speed the production cycle significantly and automate it.
